Pentagonite with Cavansite
$355.00
Pentagonite with Cavansite are rare and vibrant minerals, often found together in India, particularly in the Pune region of the Deccan Traps. Both minerals are known for their striking blue color but have distinct crystal formations and structures. Pentagonite is a rare polymorph of cavansite, with the same chemical composition but a different crystal structure. It forms in sharp, intricate clusters of radiating blades that create stunning, star-like patterns, and is typically a deeper blue than cavansite. Cavansite forms in more compact, rosette-like clusters of crystals, often a vibrant turquoise-blue color. It grows in spherical aggregates or fan-shaped formations, sometimes with fibrous textures.
When found together, pentagonite’s sharp, radiating crystals complement the softer, rounded formations of cavansite. These mineral specimens are highly sought after by collectors due to their rarity, intense color, and aesthetic appeal.
