Mordenite on Chalcedony

$265.00

Mordenite is a type of zeolite mineral, commonly found in volcanic environments, and is often discovered in the Deccan Traps of India. It’s highly prized by mineral collectors and also has practical uses in industrial applications. Composed primarily of silicon, aluminum, and oxygen, along with water molecules trapped in its structure. This mineral formed as white radiating needle-like crystals ball.

Mordenite forms in volcanic rocks, particularly basalt, and is often found in the cavities of lava flows, where it precipitates from mineral-rich hydrothermal fluids. India’s Deccan Traps region, known for its extensive volcanic activity, is one of the most significant sources of Mordenite.

Mordenite is highly sought after by mineral collectors for its unique fibrous crystals, often forming intricate and beautiful clusters. Specimens from India, in particular, are appreciated for their size, crystal quality, and association with other zeolite minerals.
